EXISTE
antes de tornar-se
IMAGEM.
Antes da forma, existe um impulso. Um estado de percepção que ainda não encontrou palavras, mas que já organiza o pensamento e orienta o olhar. É nesse território anterior à linguagem que minha prática artística tem origem.
Não inicio um trabalho a partir de um tema, de uma técnica ou de um conceito previamente estabelecido. O primeiro gesto da criação é sempre imagético. Uma imagem surge antes da compreensão, como a manifestação de algo que ainda não se deixou nomear. Somente depois ela revela a pergunta que passará a conduzir a investigação.
Cada obra nasce desse percurso. Não como resposta, mas como um campo de experimentação. O processo criativo consiste em acompanhar a transformação dessa pergunta à medida que pensamento, imagem e matéria estabelecem novas relações. A obra concluída não encerra essa investigação; ela registra apenas o instante em que esse movimento encontra uma forma capaz de sustentar sua própria existência.
Por essa razão, minha pesquisa não pertence a uma única linguagem. As artes visuais, a literatura, o teatro, a fotografia, o design e a escrita não constituem práticas independentes, mas diferentes possibilidades de investigação. A linguagem nunca antecede a criação. Ela emerge quando a própria pesquisa encontra a forma mais precisa para existir.
Minha pesquisa desenvolve-se na relação entre o humano e o digital, compreendidos não como realidades opostas, mas como estruturas que compartilham processos de memória, transformação, organização e linguagem. O pixel, para mim, não é apenas a menor unidade da imagem digital. Assim como o átomo constitui uma unidade elementar da matéria, ele representa uma maneira de compreender como toda complexidade emerge da relação entre elementos fundamentais.
Mais do que produzir imagens, interessa-me compreender como elas emergem. Toda criação começa antes da obra e antes da linguagem. Ela nasce de um impulso que organiza uma imagem; essa imagem torna perceptível uma pergunta; e é essa pergunta que a obra passa a investigar. Cada coleção representa um momento particular desse percurso, mas todas pertencem à mesma pesquisa: compreender como aquilo que ainda não possui forma encontra uma linguagem capaz de existir.
Não compreendo a arte como uma atividade separada da vida. Ela constitui o princípio que organiza meu pensamento, orienta meu olhar e atravessa todas as linguagens pelas quais me expresso. Cada obra, cada texto e cada investigação nascem desse mesmo movimento: transformar um impulso em linguagem e uma pergunta em experiência.
Art is my code.
Porque compreendo o código como aquilo que antecede a forma e torna qualquer estrutura possível. Ele organiza relações, estabelece uma lógica e permite que algo exista antes mesmo de tornar-se visível. É nesse sentido que a arte constitui meu código. Ela não representa apenas o lugar onde meu trabalho acontece, nem apenas a linguagem pela qual me expresso. Ela é o princípio que organiza meu pensamento, orienta meu olhar e dá sentido à maneira como existo no mundo.
Porque a arte não é apenas o lugar onde meu trabalho acontece. Ela é a estrutura que torna esse trabalho, e a mim mesmo, possíveis.

before it becomes an IMAGE.
Before form, there is an impulse. A state of perception that has not yet found words, but already organizes thought and directs the gaze. It is within this territory that precedes language that my artistic practice begins.
I do not begin with a theme, a technique, or a predetermined concept. The first gesture of creation is always imagistic. An image emerges before understanding, as the manifestation of something that has not yet found a name. Only then does it reveal the question that will guide the investigation.
Every work arises from this journey. Not as an answer, but as a field of experimentation. My creative process consists of following the transformation of that question as thought, image, and matter establish new relationships. A completed work does not bring the investigation to an end; it simply records the moment when that movement finds a form capable of sustaining its own existence.
For this reason, my research does not belong to a single language. Visual arts, literature, theatre, photography, design, and writing are not independent fields of practice, but different ways of investigating the same question. Language never precedes creation. It emerges when the research itself discovers the form through which it can exist most precisely.
My research unfolds through the relationship between the human and the digital, understood not as opposing realities but as structures that share processes of memory, transformation, organization, and language. To me, the pixel is more than the smallest unit of the digital image. Just as the atom is a fundamental unit of matter, the pixel offers a way of understanding how complexity emerges from the relationship between elementary structures.
More than producing images, I seek to understand how they emerge. Every act of creation begins before the work itself and before language. It begins with an impulse that organizes an image; that image makes a question perceptible; and it is this question that the work begins to investigate. Each collection represents a particular moment within this journey, yet all belong to the same research: understanding how that which has not yet taken form finds a language through which it can exist.
I do not understand art as an activity separate from life. It is the principle that organizes my thinking, guides my perception, and moves through every language in which I express myself. Every work, every text, and every investigation emerge from the same movement: transforming an impulse into language and a question into experience.
Art is my code.
Because I understand code as that which precedes form and makes every structure possible. It organizes relationships, establishes an underlying logic, and allows something to exist before it becomes visible. It is in this sense that art constitutes my code. It is not merely the place where my work happens, nor simply the language through which I express myself. It is the principle that organizes my thinking, guides my perception, and gives meaning to the way I exist in the world.
Because art is not merely the place where my work happens. It is the structure that makes both my work, and myself, possible.
