O Studio A.UM.A é o espaço onde Alexandre Pontara desenvolve uma investigação artística dedicada às relações entre imagem, linguagem, memória e estrutura em uma cultura profundamente atravessada pela tecnologia. Mais do que um estúdio de criação, constitui um território de pesquisa onde diferentes linguagens convergem para compreender como construímos, interpretamos e compartilhamos imagens na contemporaneidade.
A origem do estúdio remonta à assinatura artística apenasumalexandre, criada em 2018. Em 2020, essa investigação passou a assumir uma estrutura própria com a criação do Studio A.UM.A, consolidando uma identidade que reúne produção artística, pesquisa visual e experimentação conceitual.
O nome A.UM.A nasce da síntese da assinatura apenasumalexandre. Essa condensação preserva sua origem enquanto inaugura uma nova identidade visual. Sua sonoridade aproxima-se naturalmente da palavra alma, não como tradução, mas como uma interpretação poética surgida durante o próprio processo de criação.
O símbolo une a letra A ao número 1, referência à unidade fundamental do código binário. Mais do que um elemento gráfico, representa a presença da autoria humana em um universo estruturado por sistemas digitais. É um lembrete de que, antes de qualquer algoritmo, existe uma consciência capaz de imaginar, interpretar e criar.
Essa compreensão atravessa toda a produção do Studio A.UM.A. Mesmo quando uma obra assume forma física, sua origem permanece vinculada ao pensamento digital. Pintura, fotografia, Fine Art e processos híbridos não representam investigações distintas, mas diferentes manifestações de uma mesma pesquisa: compreender como as relações entre imagem, linguagem e estrutura se reorganizam continuamente para produzir novas formas de percepção.
Projetos como Poética em Transe investigam as aproximações entre poesia, linguagem e imagem, enquanto Entre Quatro Paredes, desenvolvido durante a pandemia, reinterpretou fotografias enviadas por pessoas em isolamento para refletir sobre a experiência humana mediada pelas imagens e pelo ambiente doméstico. Em diferentes contextos, a pesquisa permanece a mesma: investigar as estruturas que antecedem a imagem e compreender como elas reorganizam nossa relação com a memória, a identidade e a experiência contemporânea.

Em suas composições, olhos e bocas deixam de ser apenas elementos da figura humana para tornar-se territórios do olhar e da linguagem. Sobre eles, flores, insetos e outras formas orgânicas deixam de ocupar um lugar ornamental para estabelecer relações que investigam aquilo que vemos, aquilo que dizemos e aquilo que permanece impossível de traduzir integralmente em palavras. O orgânico e o digital deixam de constituir universos opostos para coexistirem como expressões complementares de uma mesma experiência humana.
Sua pesquisa atravessa diferentes linguagens sem estabelecer fronteiras rígidas entre elas. O interesse não está no suporte utilizado, mas nas relações que cada linguagem é capaz de construir. As transformações produzidas pela inteligência artificial também atravessam essa pesquisa, não como instrumento de produção de imagens, mas como um dos fenômenos que vêm redefinindo as relações entre linguagem, autoria e pensamento na cultura contemporânea.
Mais do que produzir imagens, Alexandre constrói sistemas visuais de leitura capazes de ampliar nossa percepção das relações que constituem o mundo. The studio traces its origins to the artistic signature apenasumalexandre, created in 2018. In 2020, this investigation assumed its own structure with the founding of Studio A.UM.A, establishing an identity that brings together artistic production, visual research, and conceptual experimentation.
The name A.UM.A emerges from a synthesis of the signature apenasumalexandre. This condensation preserves its origin while establishing a new visual identity. Its sound naturally evokes the Portuguese word alma ("soul"), not as a translation, but as a poetic interpretation that emerged throughout the creative process itself.
Its symbol combines the letter A with the number 1, a reference to the fundamental unit of binary code. More than a graphic element, it represents the presence of human authorship within a universe structured by digital systems. It is a reminder that, before any algorithm, there is always a consciousness capable of imagining, interpreting, and creating.
This understanding permeates the entire production of Studio A.UM.A. Even when a work takes physical form, its origin remains rooted in digital thinking. Painting, photography, Fine Art, and hybrid processes are not separate investigations but different manifestations of the same artistic inquiry: understanding how the relationships between image, language, and structure continuously reorganize themselves to generate new forms of perception.
Projects such as Poética em Transe explore the intersections between poetry, language, and image, while Within Four Walls, developed during the pandemic, reinterpreted photographs submitted by people in isolation to reflect upon the human experience mediated by images and domestic space.
